Inland in the grain growing areas around Dalby, Qld and along the Newell Highway, NSW, grain silos and other agricultural structures rise like giant sculptures out of the flat, featureless plains. The silos are simply cylinders topped with cones. They remind Curtis of Cezanne’s rendering of landscapes in geometric forms. Moree has a spectacular array of silos spread out along the railway line.
