Most of these paintings are based on the remnants of fossil fuel infrastructure around Lithgow west of the Blue Mountains NSW. Some sites are abandoned and others are being repurposed. The old blast furnace site is now a tourist attraction. Wallerawang Power Station is closed; its main building has been stripped down to its basic steel structure and one cooling tower has been retained. The Glen Davis oil shale is abandoned but open for tours.
